WordFlip Privacy
Effective · May 16, 2026
This policy applies to WordFlip, a single-player word game published by Rarefy Labs, LLC. It complements the Rarefy Labs privacy policy and describes what WordFlip does and does not do with your information.
What we collect
Rarefy Labs itself collects nothing from you — there is no Rarefy Labs account, no sign-up, no profile, and no backend that the app talks to. WordFlip does show ads from Google AdMob, and Google’s ad serving collects a limited amount of device and usage information for the purpose of delivering and measuring those ads. We have configured AdMob to serve only non-personalized ads, which minimizes the data collected. The Advertising and Third Parties sections below describe this in detail.
On your device
WordFlip stores a small amount of information locally using iOS’s standard preferences system, so the app remembers things between sessions. This includes: whether you have completed the tutorial, when we last asked you to rate the app, your best score (cached for offline display), your in-app notifications preference, the number of times an ad has been shown to you, and whether you have purchased the Remove Ads upgrade. This information never leaves your device and is removed if you delete the app.
Advertising
WordFlip displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob is configured to serve non-personalized ads only — ad content is selected based on coarse, non-user-specific context (such as your country, derived from your IP address) rather than your interests or browsing history. WordFlip does not present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not use the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) to track you across apps.
For the purpose of serving and measuring ads, Google may collect a limited set of information including non-personal device identifiers, coarse location derived from your IP address, technical data about your device and operating system, ad impressions and clicks, and crash and performance diagnostics. Google uses this information to serve and measure ads, prevent fraud, and improve its services. Google’s handling of this information is governed by Google’s privacy policy; how Google uses information from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent (EU, UK, and other regulated regions)
If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region with similar privacy regulations, you will be presented with a consent form the first time WordFlip launches. The form is provided by Google’s User Messaging Platform and asks for your preferences regarding ad serving. Your choices govern what data the ad serving uses and are stored locally on your device. You can re-trigger the form by deleting and reinstalling the app, and we plan to add an in-app way to revisit your choices in a future update.
In-app purchases
WordFlip offers a one-time purchase called Remove Ads. Purchasing it permanently disables the interstitial ads shown between rounds and replaces the optional rewarded ad with a free in-game continue. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store and StoreKit framework. Rarefy Labs receives only what Apple makes available to the app — whether the entitlement is active. We do not see your name, payment instrument, billing address, or any other personal information related to the purchase.
Game Center
If you choose to sign in to Game Center, WordFlip submits your score to the leaderboards you opt into. Game Center is operated by Apple, and your participation is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Rarefy Labs does not operate the leaderboards, does not run any servers behind them, and only sees the information Apple’s framework returns to the app on your device. You can sign out of Game Center at any time in iOS Settings.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, WordFlip may schedule a local reminder to play again after a period of inactivity. These reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device using iOS’s local notification system — nothing is sent to or from a remote server, and Rarefy Labs has no way to send you a push notification. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Third parties
WordFlip contains the following third-party software components:
· Google Mobile Ads SDK — serves the ads described in the Advertising section above.
· Google User Messaging Platform SDK — presents the consent form described in the Consent section above to users in regulated regions.
Apple’s system frameworks (such as Game Center, StoreKit, and the local notifications system) are also used; those interactions are governed by Apple’s policies. WordFlip contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting SDKs beyond Apple’s own, and no other tracking technologies.
Children
WordFlip is rated 4+ and the gameplay is suitable for children. Because WordFlip shows ads from Google AdMob, we do not classify it as a "Made for Kids" app under Apple’s definition. AdMob is configured to serve non-personalized ads only, which minimizes ad-related data collection regardless of audience. Parents and guardians who would prefer an ad-free experience for a child can purchase the one-time Remove Ads upgrade described above. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions, please contact us.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA grant rights including access, correction, deletion, and portability of personal information. Because Rarefy Labs itself does not collect personal information from you, there is no data on our side to access, correct, delete, or port. Information stored locally on your device is yours and can be erased at any time by deleting the app. For information collected by Google in connection with ad serving, please refer to Google’s privacy policy and exercise your rights with Google directly. For information held by Apple (for example, your Game Center profile or App Store purchase history), please contact Apple.
